My Health Journey
Part of what I’m doing is being an affiliate with Infinity Hoop! If you’re on tiktok, you’ve most likely seen it! That’s what made me get it, haha. I’m always skeptical of products, even with good reviews. But I got it anyway because all you need is some space for the weight to swing around!
There’s a different product that is so fun and actually helped me lose weight a decade ago, but it’s on the wii, and I have to unplug the dvd player to plug in the wii, then refix it afterwards! Too many repeated steps for adhd! I haven’t even done anything with it for a few years! So on to the newest thing!
With the Infinity Hoop, you just need a circle of space around you. And be warned, it does make noise! But, you can still watch tv while hooping! I can throw on an episode of Supernatural or one of the shows I’m trying to catch up on or put on my headphones and listen to music!
All you need is 30 minutes a day. It does take some time to figure out how to keep it going. I’ll post videos and one of the first ones will show you the technique that I saw that works best so far. Once I figured it out, it’s so fun!
The reason I got it was because I need exercise to be fun. I might not lose weight, but at least it’ll keep me going. (I always have a hard time losing weight no matter what I do just because of some of my health issues). I mean, I do get a work out by being at work, but this is intentionally exercising, haha!
After I ordered it, I got my lab results back from my pcp visit. Thyroid is normal 2 years in a row (well, I still have Hashimoto’s, which is thyroid autoimmune. But I’m not dealing with hypothyroidism right now), so yay! And of course my iron deficient anemia, B12 deficiency, and D3 deficiency are all good while taking the supplements.
But, BUT, both liver enzymes are up. SGOT (AST) normal is 0 – 32. Last year mine was 18. End of July this year was 35. High, but not that far from normal. SGPT (ALT) normal is 0 – 33. Last year mine was 19. End of July was 59. Huge jump. They start looking at cirrhosis at 55. Mine’s 4 above that.
Pcp is going to check again in November. Nothing has changed in my lifestyle or what or how I eat, so why did it jump? Is it just a spike for some reason? Is it because I was at the end of ovulation because different parts of your cycle can make it go up and down? Or is it because the family medical history is hitting me again? We don’t know yet, but a certain home health nurse is keeping us calm and giving tips.
My mom was diagnosed with her liver problems at 40, but no telling when it actually started. We knew I had a chance of getting it since it can be genetic. My birthday in August was my last drink (I rarely drank anyways). I don’t need it to be worse.
I’m not diagnosed with anything yet. But after the lab in November, I’ll have my pcp refer me to one of the liver doctors that knows my mom and her liver. It’s all the same hospital network as my pcp (and our favorite hospital in our city. We have 4 hospitals (technically 5, but one is a children’s hospital) and they all have their own network of doctors and specialists. The main area of it is literally called medical district) which is really great.
So, if I ever need a liver transplant, I have to get my bmi down to a certain number. To get there, I have to lose 40 – 65 pounds. The highest I can weigh is about what my weight averaged in college! So might as well give the Infinity Hoop a try! And if you want to join me, click the link below!
